We’re very excited to tell you all about our Social Programme for ClimbOut ’26 – it’s bigger and better than ever (yep, we say that every year but you agree)!
All the details on locations of each activity in the social programme are available on the events pages and our friendly volunteers will be able to help point you in the right direction.
These pages will be updated in the coming weeks so keep checking back!
We want the social programme to be available to everyone. We’ve tried to describe each session below so you know what’s involved.
If you have questions, or just want to talk to someone before deciding about an activity, please talk to a member of the crew or email us.
Crew members are happy to answer your questions at any point (or find someone who can).
Instructors will also be available at least 15 minutes before every session, so you can come and ask them questions before it gets busy.
Friday Evening
We’re kicking things off on Friday evening after registration with a whole load of Welcome Activities – from Social Fun & Games to help you meet new friends, to a Board Games to break the ice.
New for ’26 – Independent Climbers Workshop and Social with Ogwen Mountain Rescue to help start your weekend of independent climbing.
We’ll also have relaxed Board Games going on for anyone who fancies a slightly quieter ice-breaker.
Friday evening will culminate in a Welcome Talk from the ClimbOut Crew.
Saturday Evening – Main Events
Our main events on Saturday evening will be talks from a variety of interesting speakers – keep your eye on our social media for details very soon!
Some of the UK’s Queer Climbing Clubs will be around to chat with you on the Community Stand.
Sunday Evening – Main Events
Our big event is on Sunday evening (8-10pm at the main stage), when we’ll be hosting a fabulous Ceilidh for the second year!
No need to know any ceilidh dancing beforehand – it’ll all be taught on the evening and is a great fun way to meet new people and have a dance around to some fabulous Scottish music. We can’t wait!

These classes and workshops all require pre-booking.
Some spaces are available now to book through your ticket – if you find your email confirmation, click the link to view your ticket online and then select “add items to my booking” you’ll be able to secure your spot.
No worries if we run out of online tickets for these classes, though – we will have some further spots to book when you arrive at the festival.
Massage is booked separately
Warm up and Mobility for Climbers
On both Saturday and Sunday morning we have drop-in Warm Up and Mobility sessions if you want to limber up before heading out to the crag!
Quiet Space & Faith Space
We will also have a Quiet Space and a Faith Space available at all times.
Whilst we have quiet spaces and quiet camping areas we cannot promise that these will be completely quiet all of the time. We highly recommend bringing headphones/earplugs for wearing around Thornbridge or for sleeping if you feel this would help you.
