I’m a co-founders and organiser of Asian Climbing Crew (ACC), a community for Asian climbers. Our aim is to foster connections, build community, and increase inclusion and access in climbing. Our goal is to create spaces and design programmes for the community which combat the various systemic barriers those from marginalised identities face. It has been so fulfilling to work in this space and through this meet so many wonderful people to climb with.
I started climbing in 2018. Climbing has been a great way to experience nature, connect with myself, build trust and friendships with belay partners, and find community.
I have learned so much from my peers on the EDI committee of ClimbOut over the past three years. This is one of the most invigorating groups of people I have ever worked with and I am so very grateful to them all!
Climbing and ClimbOut actually played an important role in my journey to coming out… So, I’m super excited for this third ClimbOut which promises to be even more diverse, inclusive and fun than the last one!
