Hi! I’m AJ. I grew up in Valencia, Spain, but these days, I call Manchester home. I’m one of the founders of ClimbOut and, as of December 2024, the Managing Director of ClimbOut CIC! My journey with ClimbOut began through a selfish desire to meet more queer climbing partners – and it delivered!
In my role as operational lead, I’m involved across the different moving parts of ClimbOut. Overseeing the festival’s strategic development and building strong partnerships with brands and organisations.
I love climbing because it takes me to beautiful places with beautiful people. I enjoy the whole body movement it offers, the headspace it offers, and the community we build around it. I particularly love the feeling of adventure on multi-pitch mountain and sea-cliff routes or big alpine ascents.
ClimbOut has been an a magical experience and an incredibly rewarding project to bring to life. I’m so proud of how many people we have shared our special niche of the outdoors with and I hope it has long-lasting impact and reach. Most importantly though, I’m very grateful for the many new friends I might not have met otherwise, and many more to come!
