After doing a really cool talk a couple of years ago at our bigger sister festival ClimbOut, he’s back, this time to talk more about his bread and butter – Winter Climbing & his journey into Photography

Jules is also an award-winning photographer and filmmaker, residing in the Scottish borders, and we are looking forward to watching and learning more about their documentaries ‘A Different Home’ & ‘The River and The Glen’.
A Different Home asks what “home” means for queer people who live in a city but grew up in rural Scotland. Visually rooted to the land, this documentary reflects on what it means to grieve a space and a home which are still there but do not welcome us as who we are.
The River and The Glen documents the inaugural Camp Trans. Taking us back to the golden misty mornings, the waterfall and the campfire, this documentary explores how community care, trans ancestry and nature were the pillars of Camp Trans.

FILM – tHE QUEEN SWING
THE QUEEN SWING follows climbers Laura Pineau and Kate Kelleghan as they chase history on Yosemite’s granite walls, attempting to become the first women to complete the legendary Triple Crown: linking El Capitan, Half Dome, and Mount Watkins in a single 24-hour push. But this isn’t just a story about summits and speed records. It’s about what happens between two people when the only thing keeping you alive is the person on the other end of the rope.

This casual drop-in, drop-out session will show a reel of short films which all center themselves around queerness and the outdoors, ideal for a bit of chill out time after a long journey to the festival.
