Self Rescue Skills

Learn more about how to sort out problems when rock climbing

This one-day course aims to develop self-reliance in dealing with emergency situations on single or multi pitch climbs, based on a solid foundation of core rock climbing self-rescue and problem solving techniques.

It is a great opportunity for participants to learn the techniques needed in case things go wrong whilst rock climbing on a multi-pitch pitch crag or tidal sea cliff. We will use basic self help skills such as prusiks and tying off belay plates and apply them to complex scenarios such as not being able to lower a fallen or stuck climber to the ground.

It also works well for those that fancy combining it with a one-day Hill Walk, Relaxed Bottom-Roping or Scrambling course, resulting in a nice and versatile weekend!
