Progression Rock Climbing

This two day course is designed to progress your rock climbing and teach you about how to effectively move on rock, protect yourself and take that first step to becoming an independent rock climber.

This course aims to get you closer to being able to head out to the crag independently, by learning the skills involved in setting up your own top & bottom ropes and learning how to abseil. Although this is not a lead climbing course, it is a great progression on the way to becoming a lead climber.

The course will cover:

  • Recap of the basics (see Introduction to Rock Climbing)
  • Placing and removing gear
  • Building and equalising belays
  • Abseiling with a prussik
  • Belaying from the top of a route
  • Movement skills coaching
