Why are we doing Bursary Tickets?
Bursary tickets are to improve access to the festival for low-income LGBTQ+ individuals who would not otherwise be able to attend the festival.
What does it include?

Who should apply?
💥 Bursary tickets are for low-income LGBTQ+ individuals only.
💥 We’ve included guidance in the application form to help you determine whether you need a bursary.

💥 We recognise financial barriers to participation will affect a disproportionate number of climbers from various minoritised identities in the climbing community.
💥 There are 8 bursary tickets in total.
💥 Of these, 6 tickets have been reserved and are split equally between LGBTQ+ people who are part of the following minoritised groups: genderqueer and trans people, racially minoritised people, and disabled people.
💥 The remaining 2 bursary tickets are open to people who are not part of the above communities but are LGBTQ+ and face financial barriers to attending’
💥 You don’t need to be part of the groups listed to apply for a general low-income bursary ticket.
💥 Our approach has been influenced by various groups working on outdoor equity and we particularly want to acknowledge Wanderers of Colour and Land In Our Names for helping with this.
💥 If you have a disability and require a non-climbing aid to come with you, your aid will be able to attend the festival for free. Please let us know if you require an aid to attend when you are booking tickets.
How to apply
➡️ Fill in the ClimbOot application form
➡️ Read the application form carefully. We estimate it should take around 10 minutes to complete.
➡️ Complete the form no later than the deadline.
What happens after I’ve applied?
💥 Bursary tickets will be assigned by lottery to individuals who are eligible.
💥 We will contact all successful applicants a few weeks after applications close.
💥 If you are successful, you will receive a discount code by email which you can use to order your festival ticket and any courses you wish to attend.
💥 Your code will be active for one week (before we open for general ticket sales). If it is not used by the end of this period, it will expire. If you need more time to book your bursary space, or if you know that you won’t use your code, please let us know.
