The main event of Saturday night will be our Climb Ye Gaylidh Ceilidh, brought to you by Cairngorms Pride!
The UK’s first eco-Pride, Cairngorms Pride’s year-round mission is to support and champion queerness in people and planet. Based in the Cairngorms National Park, the LGBTQ+ run social enterprise launched last year with innovative projects focusing on LGBTQ+ wellbeing, environmental education and nature restoration. Central to their community building work are the much-loved Step Ye Gaylidh ceilidhs which are a regular feature in the LGBTQ+ community calendar. We are delighted to have their generous support in providing a special Climb Ye Gaylidh ceilidh in support of Climb Oot, and it’s one you won’t want to miss!
Time: Saturday 8:30-10pm
Location: The Lochan Bar @ Glenmore Lodge
What to bring: Yourself! Sequins and a sense of humour encouraged (two left feet welcome)
What is it?
A ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is traditionally a Scottish gathering that involves music, dancing, and socializing. The term comes from the Gaelic word meaning “gathering” or “party”. Danced in pairs and groups, they are a joyful, informal way to dance together. Our caller will explain the dance steps so no prior experience is needed.
Have questions?
Our caller will be available 20 minutes before the ceilidh to chat through any access requirements and answer any questions. If you want to talk to anyone before this, ask a crew member, we’d love to help.
