Hamish Frost (he/him)

Hamish is a photographer and climber based in Scotland.

Hamish is well-versed in dealing with the conditions Scotland throws at you during winter. He’s usually battling the elements, camera in hand, taking dramatic images of authentic days out climbing and ski mountaineering. He’s been a part of and photographed numerous hard first ascents in Scotland and been on exploratory climbing trips to remote corners of the Himalayas.

Despite being fortunate enough to have climbed and taken photos in some exciting places around the world, many of his favourite days out have been in Scotland. The exceptional quality of climbing, potential for new routes, and stunning landscapes offer an experience that rivals many of the bigger mountain ranges around the world.

Hamish recently was the subject of a Berghaus Ascension film, which explored his experiences of coming out and the importance of diversity in the outdoor world.

Informal photography session

Hamish has kindly offered some pointers to attendees interested in climbing photography. This opportunity is open to anyone who brings a camera and isn’t booked on a course. Since this will be on grit outcrops, there should be plenty of opportunities to get shots and pass on tips without needing to get on a rope.

You can express interest in this at the registration desk

DJ set

Hamish will play a set on Saturday night, expect an eclectic mix of disco, house, techno and pop (and plenty of queer bangers!)
